We work with clients to develop customized panels.  For example, "Club" Drug Panels could include:

  • MDMA (Ecstasy or "X")
  • GHB
  • Hallucinogens (LSD)
  • Synthetic cannabinoids (K-2 / Spice)

Collection Protocols and Analytical Techniques

Rigorous Chain-of-custody
  • Each specimen is accompanied by an unbroken chain-of-custody initiated by the specimen donor.
  • A chain-of-custody follows the original sample as well as every aliquot taken for testing purposes from that specimen.
  • A laboratory team member that handles the sample will record that contact and its purpose on the chain-of-custody.

Gold Standard Dual Testing Process
  • Our testing methodology is the Gold Standard for the industry
    • Initial screening against a library of more than 1,000 known drug groups -- using immunoassay techniques with Enzyme-Multiplied Immunoassay Technique (EMIT) reagents.
    • Confirmation of all "presumptive positive" specimens to verify the results both qualitatively and quantitatively -- using Gas Chromatography or Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS).
    • Analysis of all samples in double-duplicate (4 times) ensures accuracy.
  • Recognized as the definitive method for test result verification.

Analytical Techniques and Instrumentation:
  • Enzyme Immunoassay Technology (EMIT)
  • Gas Chromatography Mass Spectroscopy (GC/MS)
  • Gas Chromatography/ Electron Capture Detection (GC/ECD)
  • Gas Chromatography/ Flame Ionization Detection (GC/FID)
  • Liquid Chromatography/ Tandem Mass Spectroscopy (LC/MS/MS)
  • Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
  • Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission (ICP-AE)

Expert Witness Testimony

  • With over 20 years experience as a practicing forensic toxicologist, Michael D. Coyer, PhD DABFT is recognized and accepted as an expert witness in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Dr. Coyer is routinely called upon to testify in court or to assist in the interpretation of test results.
  • The staff of Northern Tier Research (a partner of Princeton Analytical Labs) has extensive experience in chain of custody, quality control, analysis and testimony related to their analytical preparation and testing.
    • Our clients speak directly to the Lab Director or Lab Technician.
